The Rural Municipality of Cartier (RM of Cartier) is situated on the rich prairie fields approximately 20 kilometers west of Winnipeg, Manitoba's capital city. It is situated along either side of the Trans Canada Highway. The scenic and rolling Assiniboine River forms the Northern boundary of the Municipality. The 2021 census shows the RM has a population of 3,344.
Elie is conveniently found along the Trans Canada Highway. It has the largest community in the RM of Cartier with a population of approximately 650 people. Our other communities include St. Eustache, Dacotah, Springstein and the area north and south of Hwy 1 along Lido Plage Road and within Golden Oak Cove.
You will find that there is always something to do for the young, and not so young, in the Rural Municipality of Cartier.
